Dynamite Jack is the latest title from developer Phil Hassey of Galcon fame. This is quite different from his strategy offerings though. Essentially, it's a stealth puzzle game, with simple yet decent visuals, cool lighting effects, and all the explosions you can stomach. It's actually a port of the original desktop version, and I'm happy to report that they spared no expense and made no cuts. This is full of features and options. Sadly, it's only available to iPad owners. more »

Tentacle Wars HD is a new strategy game for the iPad from FDG Entertainment. They also brought us quality titles like Blueprint 3D and Beyond Ynth. It’s very similar to games like Eufloria HD, or even more to Galcon. It’s a smart, well designed game with simple mechanics allowing deep strategy, and I loved it. The basic graphics and ambient background music give the game an interesting feel, and there’s even some online multiplayer to enjoy! more »

Draw Something by OMGPOP is a great new mobile version of Pictionary… by OMGPOP. It plays out much like Words with Friends and all the other turn based, push notification games out there, and it’s great fun. While I really enjoyed it overall, there are a few missing features that would really push this app over the top and make it truly great. more »

The long running and mostly popular music streaming service Spotify has finally gone iOS Universal with its recent major update, so here we are with a review of the app from the iPad perspective. Spotify is a pretty decent service, similar to the likes of Rdio, providing a massive library of music and making it all available to you. For a nominal fee, of course. The app itself, however, could definitely use some work. It has a solid layout and interface, but there are a few wonky features and the entire app seems to have been in the path of a firing squad shooting bugs and glitches. more »

Incoboto is a new puzzle platformer for the iPad, from developer Fluttermind. It’s a solid and challenging game with a pretty good learning curve in which you discover why all the stars in the galaxy seem to have gone out. This game turns the charm up to eleven with its art, soundtrack, and very well done humorous writing. Incoboto isn't perfect, and the touch controls leave something to be desired, but it’s still a definite keeper for anyone who likes a good head-scratching puzzle and unique mechanics. more »

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is an absolutely amazing new release from Capcom. It was originally released just over a year ago as a Nintendo DS title, and finally made its way to iOS. The concept is highly original, the puzzle mechanics are clever, the art style is colorful and unique with super smooth character animations, I could go on and on. This title may not appeal to every gamer for various reasons, but I'm sure you, yes you specifically reader and/or viewer, will love this game. more »

Burnout Crash is the most recent game in Criterion's Burnout franchise. It wasn't a true sequel, but rather a spin-off downloadable title on the Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network. That game has been ported to iOS with some really mixed quality. The gameplay is fun, but gets tiresome. more »

Rinth Island is a new puzzler from Buzz Monkey Software, published by Chillingo. It's a fairly well designed game with a wide range of difficulty, simple graphics and aesthetics, and an easy-to-use level editor. There are a few overly frustrating puzzles, and the whole game has a trial and error method of play that can get irritating, but overall I'd highly recommend it to any puzzle fans. more »
