RobotGladi8tor is the latest game from Speedbump. The same people who brought us dream:scape last year. That game’s strengths were in the visuals and storytelling, but it was quite lacking when it came to gameplay. Speedbump has sought to remedy that by including first person Infinity Blade style battles against giant robots, a few puzzles, and a few on rails segments that are sure to test your reflexes. The concept is fun, but the execution, sadly, isn’t really up to par. more »

The survival horror market is rather sparse when it comes to mobile gaming, and I never really understood why that is. Games like Silent Hill 2 prove even today that a game can be horrifying without fancy HD graphics and great controls. In fact, it's the low draw distance and clunky controls that created some of that Horror. Outside of Dead Space, there haven't been any other iOS games to successfully illicit fear in me… until now anyway. I present End Night HD for the iPad. Let me be clear. This game has some serious wrinkles to iron out, and is not for everyone. It can, however, be quite scary, which is always important. more »

In the last few years, innovative minimalist indie games have become far more prominent and tackled several genres. Not many have tackled the real time strategy genre in all its complexity, but Eufloria HD is the exception. Developed by two mere mortals named Alex May and Rudolf Kremers, and originally released on the PC in 2009 and the PlayStation Network in 2011, this game has finally made it to the App Store as an iPad exclusive. more »

SpellTower is the latest app from solo developer Zach Gage. Zach usually puts out games with more abstract design, such as Halcyon or Bit Pilot, but he's decided to challenge himself by making a game in a genre that he is not at all a fan of; word games. The resulting product is probably one of the better word games I've played. It's fun and challenging without being overly complex, and it's generally well done and definitely worth a look if you own an iPad. more »

In the olden days of 2007, a PC indie game was released to critical acclaim and praise, winning several awards. That game is Aquaria from Bit Blot, and it's been ported to the iPad with the help of Semi Secret Software. The game enthralls you in an expansive underwater world, surrounds you with gorgeous art and music, and is generally a very strong game. more »

Dark Meadow is a new first person horror title from Phosphor Games. The game is an enigma wrapped in a mystery with gorgeous visuals, atmospheric sound, and pretty decent gameplay. The game does have its drawbacks, but overall, it's a breath of fresh air that shouldn't be missed. more »
