The exceedingly popular Mega Jump from Get Set Games has finally received something of a sequel, although we’ve made the change from an endless jumping game to auto-running game. This is Mega Run - Redford’s Adventure, and it’s great fun. A ton of familiar elements from the older game return, but now they’ve been revamped, expanded on, and given a shiny new coat of paint. On top of all that, it’s also totally free, so definitely give this one a look. more »

Just over a year ago, the App Store was graced with League of Evil, a challenging retro precision platformer in the same vein as Super Meat Boy, except not quite as brutal in difficulty. Now iPhone owners get to feel that frustration and rage once again with League of Evil 2 from Ravenous Games. more »

The birds are back yet again, and they’re going back into space! But this time around, it’ll be a really familiar corner of space, far, far away. That’s right! The force meets feathers  in Angry Birds Star Wars, Rovio’s latest expansion to the Angry Birds universe! I know it sounds like an odd match, but it works surprisingly well, and this may very well be the best Angry Birds game yet, and not just because of the Star Wars elements. more »

I'm just going to come right out and say it. Rayman: Origins was hands-down the best 2D platformer from last year, beating even the side-scrolling Mario titles of recent memory. The art is breathtakingly vibrant, the world is unique and full of oddities, and the gameplay is fluid, creative and accessible. Now all of that has carried over into Rayman Jungle Run, an auto-runner based on the property. Many of us Rayman: Origins players can tell you that the running segments of that game, when you chase down treasure chests or free trapped fairies, were probably the most fun, so it makes perfect sense for this game to exist. more »

Let’s all be honest with ourselves; Star Fox 64 was clearly and objectively the best game for the Nintendo 64. Unfortunately, Nintendo hasn’t been showing much love to Fox and his furry pilot companions, leaving a spacecraft-based rail-shooter-sized hole in the hearts of millions. Luckily, a developer simply called Psyonix is here save us with their debut iOS title, Arc Squadron! more »

After Marvel's massively successful crossover film spectacular The Avengers, which could be called their other "Avengers Initiative," they're trying the same thing with the video game world. Avengers Initiative is the first of four rumored games, each starring a different member of the four main Avengers, also sharing the same universe. We've already had a Captain America and Thor game, but I get the feeling these new ones will be even better. The best part of this game though? It's Infinity Blade: Hulk Edition. I don't just mean the gameplay is similar. It's a near identical copy. more »

Supermagical from Super Awesome Hyper Dimensional Mega Team (no really, that's the name of the studio) is a colorful modern take on the classic colored bubble bursting gameplay of Bust-a-Move, but rotated ninety degrees. It adds a lot to the main experience, from the often humorous story and characters, the gorgeously colorful art, fun mini-games, and fleshed-out world. It doesn't innovate quite as much as it could, but the overall experience more than makes up for it. more »

Back when Subatomic Studios released the original Fieldrunners, it was an original tower defense title that grabbed people’s attention with great visuals and innovative mechanics. At long last, we have a sequel in Fieldrunners 2, and it somehow managed to top itself completely. It may not be as unique now that we have so many tower defense titles to choose from, but it’s still top-tier fun. more »
