• Sonic The Hedgehog 4™ Episode II

Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I was a solid platformer bogged down by sluggish physics, wonky controls, and some questionable level design. It was a decent game to be sure, but by no means was it the triumphant return to form that the teeth gnashing Sonic fans had been waiting for. Now, Episode II is finally available, and it is vastly improved, but not without faults. more »

  • Crow

    Rating:
    4 out of 5
    Category:
    Entertainment, Games, Action, Adventure

Crow is a rather interesting new title from Sunside Games. It combines great visuals and atmosphere with some very unique gesture based gameplay to deliver an original game that is truly unlike anything else you'll play. Unfortunately, while the concept is cool and artistic, the execution leaves much to be desired, with some confusing gameplay elements, an initially hard to follow story, and some weak and restrictive design choices. more »

    Rating:

    Category:
    Games

Project 83113 is an innovative and stylish new action platformer from Fabrication Games, published by NCsoft. It’s definitely unlike most games on the App Store, combining colorful sci-fi visuals with wicked fast, challenging platforming and oodles of robotic baddies for you to turn to scrap metal. It’s got a simple backstory that’s interesting enough, and a control scheme that’s a bit unconventional, yet intuitive and fun to use. more »

  • Lightopus

    Rating:
    4 out of 5
    Category:
    Entertainment, Games, Arcade, Family

Lightopus is the debut title from developer Appxplore, published by BulkyPix. It’s a very well made and unique game with bright, colorful visuals and relaxing music, but some overly challenging gameplay that doesn’t really seem to match the aesthetics. This is a fun, fluid title that will appeal to multiple demographics, but it likely won’t satisfy any of them. more »

My Little Hero is a great new action adventure game from Acne Play, published by NCSoft. It's a highly imaginative title with unique ideas and presentation. The simple 3D visuals are well done, and the music creates the perfect tone. The gameplay is pretty standard, with some clunky or awkward controls, but in every other aspect this app screams originality, and I loved it. more »

I love most racing games on iOS. Games like Reckless Racing 2 and Death Rally are great with their more traditional controls, but games like DrawRace 2 and their very unique touch controls are even better. Slingshot Racing is just such a game, with simple and intuitive controls combined with a unique premise. It's one of the latest titles from Crescent Moon games, and the debut game of developer Snowbolt Interactive. At this point, Crescent Moon is pretty much my favorite publisher. They really know which projects to endorse. more »

I still find it hard to believe that a Battleship movie even exists. Even though it was totally expected, the amount of cross promotional material for it is staggering. The most reasonable of all these is Battleship Free from Electronic Arts, a simple adaptation of the actual Battleship game except with prettier, movie-inspired graphics. more »

  • Run Roo Run

    Rating:
    5 out of 5
    Category:
    Games, Adventure, Arcade

Run Roo Run is the latest game from development studio 5th Cell. They’ve always worked to create unique and original titles with high accessibility, and most of you probably know them as the people who brought us Scribblenauts Remix. This latest gem follows the same patterns, with creative gameplay, beautiful cartoony visuals, and a wide range of audience accessibility. more »
