It’s official, Gameloft has sold six million apps on the App Store. Gameloft is the maker of games such as Guitar Rock Tour 2, The Oregon Trail, and Assassin’s Creed. The great thing for Gamleloft, however, is that most of these games were priced from around $2.00 and up. If you take six million and mutiply it by just two dollars for each unit sold, that is twelve million dollars.
“From the distribution model to the types of games available, the App Store has completely revolutionized the way handheld games are played, perceived and received,” said Michel Guillemot, chairman and CEO, Gameloft. “Our strategy from the onset has been twofold. First we deliver an aggressive line-up of high quality games and then we adapt in real time to consumer needs. With over 6 million paid games sold, it has proven to be quite successful.”
Gameloft plans to introduce around 15-30 more games by the end of this year.
