i.TV is a TV guide and Movie information app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. i.TV has an excellent interface and offers a good deal of information while promising even more useful features in their future updates. There are over 144,000 TV and movie listings, 5,000 theater locations, 6,000 TV and movie previews, and plenty of user generated reviews.
This app allows you to browse through the TV listings in your area. The interface is clean and easy to use once you locate your area and the cable company you use. If you register with i.TV you can do quite a bit more, like save favorites and share listings with friends. This is fairly useful for reminding yourself to catch a show you would have otherwise missed.
On the movie side, it lists all the theaters in your area along with what movies they're playing. The reviews for both TV and movies are all entered by i.TV users, so you can leave your own as well. If it linked to a professional review, it might have an upper hand on some of the existing movie apps.
i.TV combines two very useful ideas and does a decent job at it. It's definitely one of the better TV guide apps but could use some help on the movie side. This is hopefully something we'll see fixed when new revision comes out. As it stands, i.TV is worth checking out based on it being free and the potential it has for growth.
