Flick Skeeball is pretty much an app that gives the player a chance to play arguably one of the most popular arcade games that can be found in arcades around the world. The objective is simple, toss balls towards the holes to score as many points as possible. The more points you can rack up, the more tickets you can earn.

Tickets were an interesting addition to a mobile iPhone game. Everytime you play the game, you'll earn tickets based on how well you do. Once you have enough tickets you can visit the store to "buy" different things ranging from useless toys to different ball types that can be used in game. The game played pretty smooth, about the same as every flick game out there.

The ball was sometimes inconsistent when throwing as it would sometimes fall short of my target even though I flicked quickly. This could have been user error though as I guarantee I'm not that consistent in flicking. Still the physics engine worked great flopping the ball realistically over the barriers.

Overall, the game is pretty straight forward offering a fun and addicting experience without much variety in gameplay. It is being offered for dirt cheap in the app store so I would really recommend grabbing it if you need a simple game that is good for killing some time. It really isn't the type of game that will stay long on your device. But for the time you have it, it is a ton of fun.

My Skee-Ball Review

User rated 4/5
Review by vesperdem

I mostly agree with the review here except that I have had Skee-Ball on my iPhone ever since it first came out as 10 balls 7 cups. There are and was other skee-ball type games out there.

Arcade Bowling was a pretty good Skee-Ball game, but it was a pain to play since you were taken to a high-score screen after every game.

Ramp Champ is a joke when it comes to the physics of skee-ball. Sure it's gorgeous, but it's control is shameful.

Skee-Ball has amazing control. I have managed to get 6 of 9 100's and 7 of 9 50's. There is an achievement for all 50's which is pretty hard to do. There appears to be a random factor in the result of throws. Sometimes the ball will not fly into the air after it hits the ramp. I'm assuming that this is to make the game a little harder.

I find Skee-Ball everything that Ramp Champ wants to be. I find myself playing for hours just to get the next purchasable achievement with all the tickets I win.

Skee-Ball is one of those games I will never delete from my iPhone. Edge, Toki Tori, Castle of Magic, Smiles, Killer Pool, the many great pinball games (TheDeep, WildWest, Pinball Fantasies, Pinball Dreams, Freeballin', Monster Pinball, Pinball RC, Inferno and UndeadAttack), Brunswick Bowling and oddly enough, PathPix are all apps that have a permanent home. At least until I finish them (games like PathPix just don't have the replay-ability as Edge does).

I game Sound 4 stars only because it feels like there should be carnival music in the background and there isn't. Maybe there will be someday, but until then...
