1112 episode 1 is the first in a series of graphic adventure games for the iPhone and iPod Touch. 1112 offers up some of the sharpest looking artwork and by far the best intro scene built in to an iPhone game to date, but it?s still rough around the edges.
The game works like your typical graphic adventure game. In this game, you play the role of Lous Everett. Unfortunately, in this episode at least, the coolest thing that happens to Louis is the opening cinematic. You interact with the world around you by tapping on it and seeing the options that come up. You?re going to find a ton of really great options like Break Down or Obliterate only to realize that Louis will make up some weak excuse as to why he can?t do that.
To progress further into the game, you?ll need to talk to the people around you to find clues. While your regular conversation with these people with produce some additional information, you?re really looking for the green words mixed in to start more conversation. After you know what you?re doing, there will be plenty of different ways to interact with the world, including shaking your device and using the multi-touch screen.
The graphics and the music for 1112 are amazing. In fact, they make this game so appealing that many people will be able to overlook the fact that it?s a short game with little to no replay value and costs a good chunk of change. Considering that it?s episodic content, you?ll have to expect to shell out quite a bit more to continue the story, but hopefully we?ll see a more captivating experience overall in the future episodes.
