Fans of crossword puzzles will be excited to hear that there is now a pretty solid iPhone app that allows you to take new crossword puzzles with you on the go. 2 Across is a pretty solid stand alone crossword puzzle app that gives you the ability to download new and up to date crossword puzzles from plenty of the best places that offer them.
When you download the app you may be surprised to see that there are no crossword puzzles loaded onto it yet. What you need to do is press the add button and select from one of several different puzzle sources that include the New York Times and USA Today. Each source offers you at least one days puzzle, but some of them do actually offer multiple days worth.
Once you've selected which crossword puzzle you want to work on, simply press that puzzle and load it up. From there you are given three view options: Grid, Clues, and Split. Both Grid and Split show you the clues, however Grid only shows you the clue for that specific word. Clues shows you a page full of all the clues. When you think you know a word, press the pencil icon in the top right after selecting it, then enter it in.
Since these crosswords are taken from online sources, you can check out whether or not you actually got the word right by tapping the checkmark button. This will give you the option to check or reveal the letter, word, or entire grid. This app offers a lot to both the casual crossword puzzler and the dedicate players so overall its a pretty solid app.
