ABContacts is a Contact app replacement for the iPhone and iPod Touch. This app adds some additional features to the mix to make it worth your dough, so don?t expect a clear cut replacement.
The app loads up all your contacts very quickly whenever you launch it. This is something we?ve seen other apps avoid, but it?s nothing you?ll lose any time over so no worries on that end. You?ll be starting off in the contact groups screen where you can add, edit, or delete your groups. Having groups is a major plus for this app as the standard Contacts app doesn?t offer it.
The second part of the app is the contacts area. You can get over to this by pressing on any of the groups or the main contacts area. Here you can search through your contacts by name or company. If you want more search options you can enable notes, job title, and department. All of your contacts can be filtered very easily by pressing the first button in the upper left hand side of the screen. You can select between sorting by birthdays, events, or companies. The second button will allow you to edit or add a new contact. The best part about this feature is that you can do a quick add which has all the fields on one easy to use page.
If you?re looking for easy access you can double tap on any contact name and see a quick pop up of all their information. You can also send over contact information through email with this app, but it only sends it in text format. ABContacts is a handy app, but the lack of direct contact swapping and the fact that most of the settings are located in the iPhone settings app definitely hold things back. It?s still a great app, there are just other apps that do similar functions and more already out there.
