Ace Combat is arguably the best jetfighter game for the consoles to date. It offers a fun and realistic air combat experience that goes unrivaled to this day. Now, NAMCO has released their hit game for the iPhone in hopes to bring that awesome experience to the mobile platform.

The game is the closest thing to flying a real aircraft that we have on the iPhone. The game features some awesome air combat including all the essentials that you would come to expect. Things like gun, missiles, target locking, throttle boosts and a full 3D environment are included in this app. But it is not without its issues. The first huge issue that I noticed is that the game sometimes struggles on a 3G or lower phone. I had some pretty bad lag when playing on my 3G although I have not heard any complaints from those on the 3GS. The game only features 5 missions to play through which will leave you yearning for more very quickly. The controls are slightly adjustable but I found myself needing a bit more sensitivity in my tilt and I couldn't add it.

The game is definitely polished and worth checking out, but because of its very short campaign, lack of multiplayer, and poor customization, this game will be sitting on the sidelines until the developers release an update.
