Ace Tennis is a tennis game offered for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The game has been around for quite a while and received a bit of hype when it first came out. The game offers a really rich tennis experience right on the device with only a few little quirks. There are two modes offered in Ace Tennis. There is the play a computer mode in which players will compete in three different Opens all with a different difficulty level.

There is also the online multiplayer option which is what makes this app shine but gives it it's problems too. Jumping into the multiplayer, users will set up an account and then hop right into the action. The matchmaking system works to set the player up with another player who's looking for a game and for the most part does a great job. Once paired with an opponent, the players just click ready and begin to play. The game is mostly handled my touch and tilt. Touching on the screen will make your character go to that spot while tilting will control the direction and range of the shot.

When all the dynamics are put together, Ace Tennis really draws the player in to the game as your shot can be controlled quite a bit. One issue I found while being online is if you are paired with someone with a ping of 100 or higher, the game will tend to lag. Sometimes it will lag so much that it isn't even worth playing. But overall, if you are looking for a high quality tennis app that really provides the feel of control in your gameplay, check out Ace Tennis.
