Aeterius is a game for the iPhone and iPod Touch that has you controlling a spaceship in an intergalactic game of bumper cars.

In this game, you control your ship by using the accelerometer. Your ship doesn?t have any guns on it, but it sure does have two bumpers on the front that you can use to bash your enemies out of the way. To clear a level, you need to push all the other ships into an object or off the screen, causing them to explode. This sounds easy, but considering the controls rely on the accelerometer alone, you?re going to have to spend a good deal of time learning how to control your ship.

When you first start out, you create a profile and select a ship that?s more geared towards speed, strength, or weight. Each level you complete will offer you a chance to increase one of those attributes. You have a set number of lives to play with, but when you die, you simply start at the beginning of that universe. There are five total universes and forty five levels in all, so dying really just means easy points to put into your attributes.

With all the powerups you can get that allow you to knock out your opponents easier and the customization of your ships powers, this game will suck you in for a little bit. The controls are very hard to master and you?ll wind up killing yourself quite a bit. It?s definitely a fun game to play around with, it?s just not the type of game you?ll be keeping on your iPhone for a long period of time.
