Air Mouse is an app for the iPhone and iPod Touch that lets you control the mouse and keyboard of your Mac or PC directly from your touch screen. For this app to work properly, you do need to download the desktop software and have your iPhone and computer on the same network.
For an app that requires software to be installed on your computer, Air Mouse is one of the simplest apps to get set up. Unless there are multiple computers with Air Mouse installed on them, you?ll be able to turn the app on and immediately start using it with your computer. The fact that you can do this so easily really makes the app more impressive.
Once you?ve got it loaded up, the app is pretty simple. There are two different areas to the app, the mouse area and the keyboard area. The mouse area has two modes as well. The first one offers two buttons and a scroll wheel, while the second offers a touchpad area. You can double tap on the touchpad area to simulate a click so expect that to be what you use the most. In regard to the keyboard, everything you type on that goes into the text field you have selected on your computer.
Obviously the speed at which your mouse connects will depend on your network traffic, but in this review it clearly performed better then similar solutions currently available. This app is definitely handy and a lot of fun to use. If you have any need for a computer remote on your iPhone, Air Mouse is the best choice.
