Alive 4 Ever is a top down zombie survival shooter for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The game plays just like iDracula or Minigore but has a few more elements in it that make it unique. The game is clearly inspired by Resident Evil with its art design and menus. Players will create a profile and choose a character, abilities and weapons they may want to use in battle. Each setup consists of one main weapon and one sub weapon.
Once set up, players are taken to the game menu. This is where the first option is brought into the light. Instead of trying to survive and to beat the online high score, players can play a co-op game with a nearby friend via bluetooth.
This means for double the craziness as both of you will be running and gunning trying to stay alive. I wasn't able to get a friend in to try my hand at that feature for this review so you'll have to experience that one yourself. Choosing a scene, you'll instantly be brought into the action and will have to ward off all different types of zombies or rescue survivors. With each accomplished mission, you earn money and experience that can be used to upgrade weapons and abilities. The upgrading features really pull you into the experience as the new weapons offer a fresh take on the game and make it a ton more fun.
The first thing that really got me going about this game was the blood! Each shot into a zombie sprays a large amount of blood and knocks them back. This gives a very immersive feel to the game and makes you feel like you are actually accomplishing something. Overall, the game is the best that I've seen of its type and with the multiplayer options and upgrades, it is totally worth the price. Check it out.
