Amazon has finally entered the iPhone and iPod Touch world with their handy little app. While for the most part, this app is just a reformatted version of their main website for your device, it does add some interesting extras to make it worth downloading.
The app is broken down into a few sections. The home tab gives you access to a search field, the top Bluray discs, and an area to sign in and out. You can get to the search tab by accessing it from the home tab or at the bottom of the screen. A drop down search bar will appear for you to fill in. The results that show up are the top related matches for your search. If you?d like to search things by category, you can do so in the top right hand side of the screen. When you click that, you?ll see a full list of all the different categories with the number of results per category.
When you find what you?re looking for, just tap on the result and it will open in its own window. Each area of this profile page allows you to view more information just by tapping on it.
At the bottom of the profile page, you can buy the product, add it to your cart, or add it to your wishlist. In the cart tab, you can move items to the saved items area or delete them completely. All of these functions are great, but the real pull that the app offers is it?s reminder feature. With reminder, you can take a picture of a product and save it to your Amazon account. The robots over at Amazon will do their best to try and figure out what that specific item is so you can buy it directly from them at a later time. This process can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 24 hours before you find out if it can figure out what you took a picture of.
This app make shopping on Amazon.com a breeze. The added reminder feature definitely adds a good deal to the app making it more worthwhile to have on your phone. The only real downfall that this app has is that it doesn?t allow you to create an account from within the app itself. Besides that, this is a great app that hardcore shoppers will definitely enjoy.
