There are some people out there who jost love their ambient sound. If you're one of them, then Ambiance is probably the best app you could possibly ask for. In this little app all you do is select the sound you want to hear and then play it. That's it!
It's hard to really rate this app. For presentation, it does look nice. Nice is the new word for ?doesn't have any noticeable flaws?. You've got your scroll wheel, the ability to silence the noise, and thats about it. There are a significant number of noises to pick through and you may actually learn something about some of those noises (like the difference between White Noise and Violent Noise? Who knew?).
But even with the volume blasted, some of the noises weren't audible at all. This might mean that we should have had our headphones in when trying it out, but who really wants to listen to the sounds of a machine repeating over and over in the middle of the day? Sorry corporate America!
The fact that this app costs $.99 and isn't anywhere as pretty as Koi Pond is kind of discouraging. The only reason to check this app out would be if Koi Pond didn't have the noises you need to get yourself comfortably to sleep at night. Even if that's the case, there are plenty of sites online with the ambient noise that you require available for free. You can download them and put them on your iPhone, saving your battery and the $.99 you almost threw away.
