With all of the great things that can be done with the iPhone and iPod Touch, it's amazing to see some of the apps that come out. Most of them are unique and interesting or just take advantage of the iPhone's capabilities. Unfortunately, some of them just charge you to do something that became boring shortly after broadband internet became common place.
Amy AI is a chat bot app. Basically, you can have a conversation with Amy and most of the time she'll grasp what your saying. The boy had been programmed to be offensive at times and pleasant at others. It apparently has a mind of it's own. That is what artificial intelligence is all about, right? Unfortunately, this gets old fast. If you're that desperate for conversation, just start talking to the next person who passes you by.
The app logs your chat conversations just in case you want to go back and view them later. Sometimes, this can be funny and interesting, because Amy AI does say some awkward things. Overall, it's not really going to extend the life of the app any. What's really confusing is why this app costs. If you really wanted to talk to a chat bot, download AIM and talk to SmarterChild. At least SmarterChild can connect to the outside world and is free!
This app has so little going for it on its own. Throw in a $1.99 price tag and a one to two minute log load time and there's really no reason to download this app. There are plenty of other interesting apps on the iPhone and iPod Touch. Don't waste your time.
