Ancient Frog is a puzzle game that focuses heavily on aesthetics. The player assumes the role our hero Mr Frog who's whole goal in life is to slowly maneuver his way closer to his next meal, an unsuspecting fly. By moving along different water spots on the lily pad, the frog can eventually align himself with the fly and grab it with his tongue. Each level progressively gets harder and harder, forcing the player to use their well-developed brain to figure out how to get this stretchy frog to his prey.



As a normal puzzle game, this would have gotten old very quickly. But with the abolutely beautful atmosphere created by the quiet hum of crickets and the occasional creek of the frog, this game immerses the player in an experience worth seeing and being a part of. The frog itself moves realistically as the player moves it's amphibious limbs towards the goal. Moves can be undone easily by swiping to the left and redone by swiping to the right. With 24 challenging levels, Ancient frog brings the puzzle genre a new standard in design with its great art and captivating environments.



Priced a bit higher in the app store than your average puzzle game, this app may not appeal to everyone. There is a free version to experience, so it may be a good choice to try that out first before grabbing your copy of this excellent app. It definitely is a great example in quality in game play and design and I look forward to seeing more from it's developers
