AT&T just released a free handy utility that allows you manage your online AT&T wireless account through your iPhone. Let me begin by saying that this app is absolutely fantastic. Any time a company makes it easy and convenient to view/pay their bills, they are top notch to me. This app lets you view your bill, check your usage, and even add features.
When you first start the app it will ask for your phone number and your password. You will need to go to AT&T's website to register your number if you haven't already done so. Once you log in you will be taken to the main screen. From there you have three main option: Bill & Pay, Usage, and Features. Bill and Pay allows you to view your bill summary and even view the full PDF version of your bill. This option also allows you to make a payment on your iPhone using your checking/savings account or a credit card. This is perfect. I don't have to write a check, find my bill, hunt for a stamp, and then walk to the mailbox. (Although, I don't do any of that anyway as I use online bill pay, but you get the point). This feature alone makes the app worth its weight in gold. Wait... the app is digital and doesn't weigh anything. Scrap that analogy. The app is priceless for that feature alone!
The Usage option allows you to check your mobile minutes, texts and data usage. The app shows you exactly how much has been used in the current billing cycle and let's you know when the next cycle will begin. This is extremely helpful for those who don't have unlimited calling and text plans. The last option on the home screen is Features. This option allows you to add (and even remove) various AT&T features to your mobile plan. From here you can upgrade your current texting plan, add roadside assistance, and even add a global data plan. The only option that was surprisingly missing was the ability to increase or decrease the number of mobile minutes.
AT&T myWireless Mobile is an excellent app that supplements AT&T's already popular website (www.wireless.att.com). It's available for free in the app store and I highly recommend it.
