Avatar was destined to be a blockbuster movie with millions of dollars put into its production. And as everyone knows, with a blockbuster movie, comes the game. Avatar the game is put out by Gameloft, one of the most respectable companies in the iPhone gaming business. This game follows the story of a new Avatar program recruit and his journey through the new world. The events in the game take place before the actual movie and allow for the game to have its own story. The game plays much like the Assassin's Creed app if any of you are familiar with it.
There is a virtual joystick and buttons for jumping and attacking.
Most of the game is spent running through the jungle navigating different gaps and forest walls. In between exploring, there are different fights that occur and players must use the single button attacks to defeat the different creatures.
Overall, as a game with the sole purpose of promoting a movie, it is pretty well-made. The graphics are definitely above par but the gameplay can get monotonous after a while. On my 3G, there was some significant lag issues which threw off one too many jumps and forced me to restart. The game started at a high price tag but has been dropped to a lower one so I can definitely recommend it. If you like action-adventure games, this is one of the better ones out there, but it isn't the best. Check it out.
