Babyphone is an app for the iPhone that allows you to turn your device into a baby monitor. This app is definitely a unique approach to using the microphone in the iPhone and its ability to make a phone call.
The way you use Babyphone is simple. First, you set up a phone number that you would like the app to call. This number has to be entered in manually though, so don?t expect to access your contacts list. While not a huge drawback, it seems like a simple oversight that should be added to the app.
Once you?ve set that up, you can then determine the sleep interval. This will allow you to save battery on your phone if you don?t have it plugged in but may also cost you the security that this app has to offer as it may sleep through the loud noise. When you?re ready to turn the app on, you?ll just need to set how loud you want it to pick up and then actually activate it. Once the noise passes the threshold, the app will call the number you set.
This app is definitely handy and does exactly what it says. Perhaps in the future versions they?ll add contact book accessibility. Overall, the only issue with this app is the idea that you?d have to leave your iPhone behind as a security device instead of keeping it on you as a phone.
