Banner Free turns your iPhone into a mock-LED scroll board that you can program any series of letters, numbers, and characters that the iPhone keyboard offers. Once you've entered it, the message begins to scroll across the screen, displaying exactly what you wrote.

Now this may seem boring and useless (which many times it is), but by writing a quick sarcastic or sharp tongued ?LOL? or ?Not Funny? and holding it over the head of a friend who has just told a bad joke, you've surely earned a few laughs.

Banner Free makes your iPhone a prop gag, but it can easily backfire on you if you try and complicate things too much. Since there is no ability to change the speed at which the message scrolls, writing anything longer than 5 letters will kill your audiences attention span.

If you're thinking about downloading this app to use it on a daily basis, please don't. You'll simply ruin it for everyone. It's not easy to master Banner Free for comedic purposes, but if you can do it properly, it's definitely worth keeping this app on your last page.
