BarFly is a simple app that allows you to find bars and clubs in your area very easily. The app is made for international use, so you?ll hopefully be able to find some bars near where you decide to use it.
When you load up this app, it will ask to locate you. Considering that?s the only way to find bars near by, it?s highly recommended that you accept. The app will also instruct you that the longer you keep it open the better it can locate you. After it has figured out where you are, you?ll be presented with a list of locations for you to check out. The locations are listed by distance away from you and the app seems to be ok with showing you results over 150 miles away.
Tap on the bar that you?re interested in checking out to pull up its profile. This includes a picture, write up, indicators as to whether it?s a bar, restaurant, or club, the address with map functionality, a website link, and the phone number. The last three options can be clicked to show you more information outside of the app. The only customization you have with this app is the ability to change the units of measure, what type of location you?re searching for, and the international call prefix.
BarFly seems to only list big name locations in major cities. When testing this app out, it the closest bar or club near me according to this app was over 20 miles away. Considering how much detail is put into each profile, its understandable that not all bars and clubs will be in this app, but unfortunately when after 10 results for the Boston area it spits out New York bars, this app isn?t as handy as it could be.
