Barnes & Noble is still one of the most prominent front ends in the book business. They have a wide selection of great books to choose from and provide a wonderful experience while browsing. They now have released an app for the iPhone and iPod Touch that tries to culminate everything Barnes & Noble into one handy app. Users can utilize the app to view the bestsellers, new releases, and check out recommendations and reviews of different books. They can find the nearest location of stores along with information on the store's offerings and upcoming events.

But perhaps the most interesting feature of this app is the ability to take a picture of any book, dvd, or cd and receive information about the author and even reserve it right from inside the app.

For the most part, it found every title I threw at it though it won't find magazines. If you are an avid reader and enjoy finding new titles or just love to shop at Barnes & Noble, this app is quite the find. It offers so much content at a glance and really presents information in the most accesable way I have seen.

The only limitations I can see of this app are that you are only finding books and other media at Barnes & Noble prices. Sites like Amazon.com can get you that same media for cheaper, but this could provide the best mobile access to information still.

If you have a need for quick reference of different media and want a wikipedia like synopsis of most any title you search, check this app out. It is offered for free and presents really well, giving a great experience as well as great content.
