Games » Blades Of Fury Review

All of us at one point in time have played a fighter of some sort. Blades of Fury is arguably the first true fighter that can be found for the iPhone. Fans of the Soul Caliber series will see the obvious similarities that are found between the two. The game features 10 different unlockable characters each with their own unique fighting style. Although the control won't get too in depth due to the lack of screenspace for buttons, combos can still be racked up by mixing magic, light, and heavy attacks together.

The game comes with two different control schemes to choose from while playing. It gives the player the option to use a touch interface where players will drag to perform different moves as well as a more traditional control scheme of buttons.

Players are able to play through a few different modes like the story mode or the arcade mode. There is even multiplayer via wifi or bluetooth.

Overall, the game plays like a somewhat cheaper version of Soul Calibur but in the end delivers a fun experience. It's priced a bit higher than most games but the quality is up there. The graphics are definitely nice and the gameplay is smooth and consistent. I definitely recommend grabbing it if you like fighters. Now all we can hope for is that the voice acting will be better in the sequel. Check it out.
