The iPhone has had some awesome casual games through the years with apps like Bejeweled, Peggle, and many more. Blokus is a game from the giant developer Gameloft looking to set itself up as the next hit casual game in the app store. The game started out as a board game in the year 2000 which eventually spawned a variety of different games and eventually videogames. The whole object of the game is to be the last person able to make a move.
Each player takes turns laying their pieces on a corner of a previous piece. The pieces look like Tetris but instead of trying to make them all fit together, you are trying to spread them out as much as possible. As pieces are laid, it eventually gets harder and harder to find a corner to lay a piece on. The game is actually pretty fun to play through and offers a few different modes. You can play through a tournament mode which will get harder as you go. You can play a quick game against up to 3 computer players. You can also play a multiplayer game over wifi, passing, or on Gameloft Live.
Overall, this game was a fun board game the few times I played it and makes for a great game to play a couple rounds on while I\'m waiting. Check it out.
