Everybody who loves word games most likely loves the game Boggle. We've seen countless apps that emulate the classic word search gameplay of this original party game and now we finally have the official iPhone version created by Electronic Arts. This game features everything the tabletop game had to offer and throws in a few new features on top of it.

The app starts up right away offering to get you in the action quickly. There is the Classic mode, Advanced Mode, Self Score Mode, and Challenges. The classic mode will take players through a timed session much like playing the original Boggle while the advanced mode will change up the gameplay a little by introducing new gameplay mechanics such as the portal cubes feature and panic flip. The self score mode allows you to make up your own scores. After each game is completed, there is the option to challenge a friend to beat your own score.

This is the only multiplayer feature that I could find in the game which was pretty disappointing considering the fun of Boggle is found in competing against other players at the same time. This would be my largest complaint with the game. It has a great interface and really does play smooth, but without a sound multiplayer it just becomes another simple game. There are already apps just like the official Boggle that have an online multiplayer right in the app and some of them can be found for free. So having an official Boggle as a single player app just makes this a skip for me.
