With the popularity behind games like Brain Age starting to catch on, it didn't take long for some brain testing game to make it's way over to the iPhone. Brain Tuner is a free app that tests how fast you can answer 20 or 100 problems. All the problems are math based, so it's not really much of a Brain Tuner as it is a horrible pop quiz from your angry elementary school teacher.
The interface is really easy to navigate, since all you have to do is select how many question then hit begin. Once in the quiz, you just decide whether that answer is right or wrong and it does the rest for you. There's a scoring system that helps figure out how well you're doing based on time and accuracy if you're the competitive type.
The advantage of this app is that it's free. The disadvantage is that it seemed a lot more promising then it was. Try convincing yourself that it's worth doing the 100 problem quiz if you've already done the 20 problem quiz. Few of you will actually complete it.
If you have the need to refresh your basic math skills, then Brain Tuner is worth checking out. The fact that it's free only sweetens the deal. But overall, this was a disappointment of an app simply because it's name was stronger than what it actually delivered. If it was called Math Quiz, maybe it would have got a higher score?
