If you?re looking for an action game for the iPhone and iPod Touch, Brothers In Arms Hour of Heroes is an amazing title to check out. This game really pushes the boundaries of what we?ve seen so far on these devices and offers the sort of gameplay that you would expect out of a PSP or Nintendo DS title for a third of the price.
Brothers In Arms Hour of Heroes offers up 14 missions spread across three campaigns during World War II.  Your role is that of a soldier in the 101st Airborne. Throughout the game you?ll find yourself running around on foot using numerous different weapons depending on what the situation calls for and even participating in vehicular combat in a 4x4 and a Sherman tank. Basically, this game offers up everything that you would expect out of a video game on any current portable console.
The controls for this game aren?t difficult either. To move, use the circle in the left side of the screen. Dragging the ball within that circle will bring you in that direction. Dragging your other finger across the screen will turn your field of view in any direction you like. It will take a bit to get through the learning curve, but once you do, you won?t run into any more issues.

The game does quite a bit for you as well. If you get close to any form of cover, you?ll duck down behind it. Approaching a wall will turn your back to it so you can lean around the corner and get the shot you need. When firing, you?ll also notice that there is auto-aim to a degree. While this might cheapen the game for some of you, without it, the game would be a lot more difficult.
Brothers In Arms Hour of Heroes is a huge step forward in the world of iPhone and iPod Touch gaming. This game has so much depth that you?ll find yourself sitting there and playing it the same way you would any other console game. With all the different difficulty settings and achievements to unlock, this game is going to be on your iPhone or iPod Touch for quite some time. If you?re looking for serious gaming on your device, definitely download Brothers In Arms Hour of Heroes.

Brothers in Arms is truly the best game i have ever played on my ipod with its amazing controls and graphics. But with all the good comes some bad the game is to short and on normal difficulty is to easy. Athough it took me a long time to beat Normandy this was only because I could not protect the tank in the second last mission and that just fruserated me. Also i recommend not doing the normal difficulty because it is too easy really you can stand in front of two mg's and wait untill you can get the headshot and this is not right. The auto aim is god as it would be near impossible to play without. 9.99 seems like more than a fair price for what your getting this game is a must have.

This is a great game graphics are great controls are intuitive, auto aim is a must otherwise i think this game would be impossible to play. And it is now $5.99. the game is sort but has replay value. Maybe with the success of this more will follow, I am hopeful of this and maybe they will be longer? I would defenatly recommed u pick this game up now that it is on sale!

Brothers in Arms could have been a whole lot better. It's campaign mode is pretty surprising at times and there are some cool sections throughout the game as everybody says, but this is precisely what blinds people from the truth: a game whose many well accomplished elements are SPOILED by TERRIBLE controls. It's wasted potential. LAME.

The graphics are great. The art design is pretty well realised, and there are some strong moments, like a tank destroying a wall while passing through it to take you down, or a bunker in which you're trying to hide from mortar fire that suddenly blows up right in your face. Sound is decent and there is a superb soundtrack. The campaign itself is varied and innovative for a portable game and it feels a little rushed, but that's mostly forgivable. Then, you've got some unlockables and achievements for more playthrough.

What an optimistic paragraph! Here you can find all the elements that would make a game great. But when you actually grab the iphone and play the game, EVERYTHING BETWEEN YOUR FINGERS FALL APART. Why?

IT'S THE CONTROLS

They are so stiff, so slow, so uncomfortable, so glitchy, so ineffective, so inaccurate, so unnatural, so BAD! And how painful is it when your fingers cover the whole screen 75% of the time? For aiming, you must drag the center of the screen! How smart is that?
Check out how IGN described the game's poor controls:

-There is a good game here, but due to unfortunate controls, it remains just out of reach. Despite the presence of a tutorial that attempts to explain the control scheme to you, there is just no point in the game when it clicks. It consistently feels unnatural, and if controls feel awkward after two hours of play, then there's a serious problem. The default set-up is a virtual analog stick in the lower left corner of the screen. The look around and aim, you slide a finger from your other hand around the screen. (The game features a slight auto-aim that nudges your crosshairs on top of a target if you get close enough to it.) Now, hold your hands in front of you. Grip an imaginary iPhone with your left hand and crook your thumb up. Next, try to balance the other side of this imaginary iPhone with your left hand, but arc your index finger over the screen. Looks comfy, doesn't it? It's not. It's clumsy. It's slow. And it results in a lot of unintended deaths. -

They gave a 6.0 out of 10. Because of the controls. Thanks BIAHOH's controls. Thanks a lot. Don't purchase this game! Please don't! I really want my review to be helpful! You'll find so many better games in the App Store! ASphalt 4, Rolando, Hero of Sparta, Spore, the oncoming Real Racing... just pass this one. I really can't recommend such a mess of a game.
