Brushes was an original hit on the iPhone for enabling users to be able to paint right on their mobile device and produce high quality art. The iPad version was demoed onstage at the device's announcement and made some awesome promises as to what it was going to offer at launch. Well now that the iPad is out, we get the chance to take a look at this awesome application and see if it's truly worthy the money. The first thing everyone is obviously going to notice and I'll be lucky if you all don't kill mentor saying it practically every review, the iPad provides an amazing screen which gives the user a large amount of screen real estate to truly make that picture they want.
The new layout is fairly straightforward. Users can access all of their controls right from the main screen without having to navigate away from their drawing. This was nice because I could now change settings on the fly and get right back to drawing. Another nice feature was the new ability to Save color swatches for later use making it that much quicker to get the look you want. The last notable feature was the ability to playback your drawing and also share it via email or straight to Flickr.
Overall, the app fits perfectly on a device like the iPad and is definitely worth grabbing if you like to draw. Check it out.
