Call of Duty Zombies was born as an extra mode found on the COD:5 game for the Xbox, Playstation and PC. The game took off and essentially made a name for the otherwise 2nd place development team Treyarch. Trying to ride on the success of their newfound gametype, Activision has released an iPhone version of the game that strives to keep the experience as close to the original as it can. This means that weapons, levels and overall gameplay elements are identical. Nothing has been changed. In theory, this is a great concept but it is not without its flaws.

The original game relied on the many buttons offered by a controller but now is required to fit all of that on a touch screen. The controls can be a bit touchy which makes it hard when you are being attacked by mindless zombies obsessed with chewing on your noggin. The game offers a multiplayer experience with up to 4 players via wifi, bluetooth, and even an online mode via wifi. I personally wasn't able to find anyone online to fight along side during my review but that didn't keep me from playing the single player.

The game is addicting and fun with more maps and features promised in the future. The game will set you back a few frappacinos but in the end it is a game worth grabbing. Check it out.
