SUMMARY: Trace your way through the memory maze

Check out, because your kids deserve the very best educational apps!

Cecity is a simple line tracing game that challenges you to view a pattern and then trace your finger around the screen in the same pattern by memory. The game takes a few features from many different apps I’ve seen in the app store and combines them to create a fluid and visually appealing experience. It’s set up in a levels format where you will play through easy, medium, and hard sections. Each section offers its own unique challenge.

At first glance, the game looked to be a little too simple but diving into it more it became apparent that this game was going to throw me for a loop a few times. The game challenges you to complete the levels as quick as possible which competes with the challenge to trace the pattern correctly. Missing a turn will alert you and still let you continue so long as you are able to trace all squares and maintain accuracy.

Overall, the game was still a little too simple for my tastes and even on the large screen of the iPad (it’s available for the iPhone as well), each puzzle felt too similar on the 6x8 grid. It would have been nice to see different size grids or some different challenges along the way. But for what it’s worth, the app is a great casual game that could offer plenty of relaxing gameplay. Check it out.
