Christmas With Weezer is another variation on the Tap Tap Revenge series of games for the iPhone and iPod Touch. If you?ve already played Tap Tap Revenge or Tap Tap Dance than you?ve played this game. The only difference is the songs and the skin.
The game uses the advanced Tap Tap Revenge engine that is only available in this game and Tap Tap Dance at this point. That means you can double tap and a few other features that you can?t do in the core version of Tap Tap Revenge yet. The object of the game is very simple in concept. Following the beat of the song, tap the different Christmas themed objects as they cross the line at the bottom of the screen. You?ll have to tap, hold, and even shake your iPhone in order to clear some songs.
This app offers eight songs in total, all done by Weezer. The first six songs are from the album A Christmas With Weezer and include We Wish You A Merry Christmas, O Holy Night, Silent Night, Hark The Herald Angel Sings, The First Noel, and O Come All Ye Faithful. After you unlock hard mode, you?ll be able to play Pork and Beans and The Greatest Man That Ever Lived off their Red Album.
With four levels of difficulty, including a kids mode to get new players into this game, there?s quite a bit to offer if you?re into holiday themed apps. At the time of this review this app was discounted down to $1.99 considering that it is Christmas Eve after all. If you enjoy Weezer and love holiday music, download this app. At $1.99, it?s cheaper than buying those two songs from their Red Album separately.
