SUMMARY: Replay this old 80's classic on your iPhone

Cobra Command is a helicopter game for the iPhone and iPod Touch. No, it is not based off the GI Joe enemies with the same name. The game was originally released to arcades in 1984 as a laserdisc-based rail shooter, where you control the guns of a helicopter shooting down enemies. The game is completely in drawn in an anime format and has a definite anime feel.

While the idea behind the game was awesome back in 1984, the game being released today has a slightly less appealing idea. The controls are a bit dodgy and the gameplay is pretty mundane with not much more to do than line up your targets and pull the trigger. The game is set in different areas of the world like New York, The Middle East, the Himalayas, and more. But instead of loving this game, I found myself watching the title screen longer that I actually played the game. It grew extremely boring fast and did not stay on my phone very long at all.

I suppose if you are old enough to remember this game in the arcade it may be a fun experience again. But for the younger generations out there, this game is just a bit too simple. The game is cheap in the app store, but I suggest passing on this one.
