ComiXology is a handy utility for any comic book fan to have on their iPhone and iPod Touch. This app isn?t exactly for the casual comic book fan as it has all the complex little details that hardcore buyers will be drooling at the mouth for.
There are a lot of different areas to this app, but before you start using it, you?ll want to create an account or log into an existing account. That way, when you find comics that you like you can easily add them to your pull list. The categories you can dig through offer plenty of different search options. There?s also also a countdown at the bottom of the app to let you know how many days are left until new comics hit the shelves.
Many of the different categories are filters to find what you?re looking for. The preview category will give you a little more information about each comic listed there, where as the shipping items provide you with more of the clean cut side of things. On the right hand side you?ll see a way to sort through everything once you?re in the category. This, as well as the top sorting method will change depending on the category you?re in. For an app that has quite a bit of information, this is definitely handy.
The app doesn?t end at comic books and merch. There?s plenty of articles and podcasts that you can read and stream directly from the app. The presentation is so well done that once you get a hang of it, you?re sure to find something that catches your interest after you?ve pulled your comic books. For non-comic book fans, this app isn?t really going to do anything for you, but for those diehards, you?ll definitely be sure that each week you?ve managed to get every comic book that was on your pull list.
