Contact Grouper is an app for the iPhone and iPod Touch that allows you to add your contacts into different groups. You can create and edit the group names very easily and simply add your contacts to them at will. This is a very handy function to have for those with massive contact lists on their iPhone.
The most interesting thing about Contact Grouper is the fact that the iPhone supports contacts being in groups, but it doesn't have any way for you to create a group or even add and remove contacts from a group. This makes little to no sense, but Contact Grouper takes full advantage of it. Unfortunately, this functionality doesn't spill over into being able to mass message a group with the Text app or Mail app.
With this app, all you need to do is create the group titles you want. From there you head over to your contact list and just add each contact to the group they fit in. Contacts can fit in multiple groups if you want, so you don't have to worry about that limitation. This makes the app very useful even for people with a low number of contacts in their phone.
Unfortunately, with half the functionality already built into the iPhone, it?s hard to believe that apple won?t be rolling out support for this in the near future. Until then, this definitely speeds up finding the right contacts. For $0.99, this app is definitely worth it if you're looking for a way to sort your contacts.
