Games » Crush The Castle Review

Physics games can be found in every corner of the app store nowadays. There are so many of them it is hard to find a quality one out there. Crush the Castle is another physics-based game which focuses on knocking down different structures and crushing every person in it. Medals are earned for each level based on how many launches it takes to crush everyone. The gameplay is very simple. Users start a launch from the trebuchet and then tap again to release the projectile. The game isn't anything super detailed but the physics of the game make it pretty entertaining.

After passing various sections, different ammo will be unlocked and the ability to launch multiple stones will become one of your main weapons.

The game didn't bring anything too new throughout my trial and eventually became pretty boring. Sometimes the projectiles wouldn't have any effect on the towers and that made for some pretty frustrating moments at times.

Overall the game was fun and was fairly addicting to play through. But after a while it will grow somewhat monotonous. For the price it is listed at in the app store, it is a fair trade. It has just enough fun and puzzle to it. Check it out.

I LOVED this game for about a week or two, until I mastered all levels and the couple of kingdoms/fiefdoms provided. I was surprised that there were no more castles to conquer after that -- the map made it look like there were more that might be available, perhaps in some future in-app upgrade. Well, one can hope.

BTW this game's available as a free online player, but the iPhone interface is light-years better than mouse or trackpad controls.

This review is a bit misleading in the statement, Sometimes the projectiles wouldn't have any effect on the towers.

That's simply not true. The game does indeed frustrate you ... to think out of the box. Sometimes you want to roll the ammo; other times you want to lob it to just the right place to cause a collapse or a domino effect, and so on. There is ALWAYS a way! Often, that way involves a single shot! And if you can't figure it out -- sometimes the solutions are deceptively simple -- you can continue gameplay elsewhere, unlocking more, and more powerful ammo and returning to the prior castles.

Still, I can't give it all 5s due to the game being short on content.
