DanceDanceRevolution S Lite is a one song version foreshadowing the release of Konami?s Dance Dance Revolution S for the iPhone and iPod Touch. This game has a lot of competition from Tap Tap Revenge and other games that have already hit these devices, but it may just hold enough brand recognition to claim dominance.
The game works just like every other DDR game you?ve ever played. When the arrows cross the blank arrow spots up top, you?ll need to press down on the button that corresponds with that arrow. Those buttons are laid out in a transparent d-pad on the lower half of the screen. In the background, you?ll see your character dancing along with the music. The animation and styling looks just as good as the PS2 versions of DDR.
This demo only offers one song and no difficulty customization. Granted, this was put out there as just a taste while we wait for the full game, but not allowing a difficulty selection or at least another song just doesn?t feel right. It almost makes us wonder how many songs we?ll actually see in the full version of this game and what the total price will be.
Considering DDR is the most popular game of its kind across all the different platforms, we?ll have to see how Tap Tap Revenge and the other titles hold up against it. The song list might just be the factor that wins people over in this game, so we?ll have to wait and see when the full version launches. For now, definitely download this app and give it a shot.
