Days of Thunder is a stock car racing game for the iphone and ipod touch. It's based off the official Days of Thunder movie and offers some amazing depth.
The players have a total of 39 different races to compete in with 12 unique tracks. There are also 14 different cars that can be unlocked to improve your racing speed and control.
The game features some interesting controls with the turning handled by the accelerometer. The brake and gas must be used carefully as a small mistake will throw you into the wall.
This game offers a great experience on the iphone of the adrenaline racing in NASCAR. You must strategically use you pit to refuel and repair your car as well as implement drafting to receive the needed speed boosts in order to win. With a country soundtrack and cutthroat AI, this game will keep you fighting for the top spot and to win all the circuits available. The crashes are intense in this game and trading paint with other racers will ultimately earn you a slow motion replay of the events, though I doubt you will win the race. The AI really does seem like they want to destroy every part of you as I found myself being slammed into the wall more often than not.
Fans of NASCAR will love this game as it feels the closest to NASCAR we've that we've been on the iPhone. For the price its developers are asking for this app, it's definitely worth checking out. It is a really good racing app for the iphone.
