Games » De Blob Review

Screenshot1
The first game to hit the App Store that ties the iPhone in as a multiple console release. de Blob is currently slated for a September release on the Nintendo Wii and DS, but the experience from this app comes across as a completely unique experience. de Blob pits you against the evil I.N.K.T. Corporation who have made color a crime. The story line isn't really there to compel you to beat the game or even lure you back in for another crack at that level. Unlike Super Monkey Ball, the game has too much going on with the various characters in it to just leave out a story an let it catch on.
The control scheme is flexible, allowing for you to pick touch or use the accelerometer.

After that, you simply guide this blob around the screen, grabbing different colored balls to change your shade and paint the walls around you. Each glob adds to your size as well and mixing colors makes new colors you can't get from just one blob. The challenges in the game involve coloring everything, racing to a certain area, and being a specific color to paint a building. It may not sound that challenging, but the placement of all these obstacles in the game will make it hard to clear it 100% before time runs out. Over all the game does have a very simple concept but it's definitely fun to play. At $7.99 however, there are better games to pick.
