Everyone knows what Doom is. Everyone. This game basically made FPS games what they are today. It is known as the grandfather of the FPS phenomenon and is regularly claimed to be the the reason the genre is accepted by the mainstream gaming culture. The game featured network play, 3D environments and the ability to customize files on PC.

While you can't edit files and create custom content, the game in its entirety has been brought to the iPhone in its classic form. Once again fans of the series can pop on their spike knuckles and whomp on some monsters. The control are surprisingly fluid and never got in the way of gameplay. This definitely felt like a trip to the past as I splattered monster guts on the floor with my shotgun. There is also multiplayer with up to 4 players via wifi which makes for some fun times as well.

Overall, if you know this game and have played it before, you know exactly what is being presented to you. If this is the first time you have experienced Doom, grab it. It is a gem from a time when the term FPS was just beginning to become popular. The game is a little pricey but considering how much content is coming with the app and the ability to play multiplayer, the price is definitely justified. Check it out.
