The new version of the Facebook app for the iPhone has brought a lot of the changes that Facebook has just recently implemented on their website. While these changes have been met with a lot of resistance on the Facebook website, they add a lot the the iPhone app.
On the home page, under the News Feed tab, you'll actually be able to filter out all of the updates that your friends have made by selecting any of the following categories: Top Stories, Status Updates, Photos, Posted Items, Live Feed, Events, Groups, Pages, and Assorted Facebook Apps. This allows you to see the information that you want to without having to scroll through multiple pages.
Unfortunately the Facebook app still doesn't allow you to change your profile picture or the information you have listed in your profile.

Having the ability to add a new picture to facebook directly from your iPhone and setting it as your profile picture would allow you to have full control over facebook without having to visit the site on a computer again.
Facebook has also made it easier to add a comment to almost any update or picture made by your friends just by pressing the plus button next to it. You can also tag pictures you've uploaded directly and very easily. This app has received a lot of graphical updates and has become much more responsive with each revision. If you have a Facebook account and haven't downloaded Facebook 2.0 for your iPhone or iPod Touch, we highly recommend that you check this app out.

That's better

When the original version of the Facebook native app released, it was a little disappointing. It was nice to get a native app, but the web app actually had better features and was easier to use. That's been rectified with the release of Facebook 2.0. It still can't replace the real thing, since Facebook apps, events, and groups are still omitted, but all the best parts of both the web app and the 1.0 native app are here. Actually, the wealth of new features is a little overwhelming, in the same way that the new version of the actual Facebook is overwhelming. You get used to it, though.
