Facebook has been in the top downloaded free apps list ever since it came out. This comes as no surprise as the site is among the top sites visited everyday on the internet. When the first few versions of the app were released, they did an excellent job portraying most of the features. But one couldn't help but notice that many features that made Facebook so great were actually missing from the iPhone application. Essential features such as events, notes, and wall post comments were missing and made the overall experience a watered-down version of what we love.

I thought the Facebook crew had decided to ignore all the pleas for a better app, but I was wrong. Facebook 3.0 has been released and brings with it all the missing features and a complete redesign. The app is now much faster, offers much more content and makes checking Facebook on your device a much more entertaining experience. The new interface seperates categories into buttons. with each loading way faster than the previous app. Notes can be read and written and events can be created and responded to. But perhaps the largest improvement is a group of new features. 3GS users can upload video directly to Facebook from the app, photo galleries have complete customization and the list goes on of features that have been added.

The app is still free and with this 3.0 update, the Facebook app has become a must have on the iPhone. It still does not have support for lists or saving photos which is a large bummer. But with all these new updates and improvements, I would still consider this update PERFECT.
