The iPhone is full of platforming games and puzzle apps but rarely do I get a chance to play a game that requires strategy and precision movements. Finger Balance is an app that, at the very least, stress you. But it keeps you coming for more. The app is extremely similar to a lot of popular online flash games that require you to move your mouse along a predetermined or moving path. But instead of moving your mouse, or even a finger, you are actually balancing a ball on a board. The first time I played the game I didn’t really realize how difficult this game could be.
But as I progressed through the levels, I became extremely thankful for unlimited tries. The game can be maddening at times. The goal is to get the ball to touch the top line. To do this, you need to control the two ends of the board with your fingers. Traditional physics come into play as you tilt the board to make the ball roll to a side.
Overall, the game was a serious challenge and there were a few times where I just set it down and took a break because I couldn’t get it my fingers to do what I wanted them to. Occasionally the screen grew a little to sticky to accurately move the sides but it still was a well-designed game. If you enjoy precision movement games, this one is the best I’ve seen for the iPhone. Check it out.
