The iPhone has plenty of baseball apps available to users and I've played my fair share. Some, if not most, are really not that well done but there are a few shining examples of fun games. Flick Baseball by FreeVerse is a game that has me confused on where to classify it.
The game is one of the most complete baseball games I have played putting you in control of steals, catching in the outfield and more. The entire gameplay experience is one of the best I have seen in a baseball game. But the graphics, sounds, and user interface are some of the most mundane I have seen also. This makes me unsure on where to stick it. One annoyance I had (until I figured out what was happening) is that the game resets your calibration before each shot. This means if you even slightly change the position of your device between shots, you'll have to bat at the ball with your device tilted.
Other than that small issue, the game plays smooth, but slow at moments. It's a fun experience and definitely one of the more complete ones. It's still not my favorite, Baseball Superstars 2010 takes that honor, but it was fun to play while I had it. Check it out.
