Social Networking » FriendSync Review

Feeling like your contacts list is lacking on the picture department? Well if you have a Facebook account, FriendSync will actually allow you to grab all of your Facebook friends pictures and put them directly into your contacts. The app isn't flawless by any means, but if you're not keen on finding the pictures yourself or taking them with your iPhone, this is a great alternative.
When you first load up the app you'll need to set up the permissions it requires to get into your Facebook account. This process doesn't leave the app, but it does require you to log in to your Facebook through a mock Safari browser. Once you get the authorization code you're good to go!
You should definitely be on WiFi when you use this app. Syncing with your Facebook can take a good deal of time and may even crash the app. Sometimes it will crash multiple times.

But once it does work, you'll have to go through it and manually sort things out. If you have just a first name in your contacts and only one person of that name in Facebook, it will assign that picture. Sometimes, it won't even assign the picture to the person of the exact same name.
The fact that you can sync the contacts to your Facebook friends manually makes things a little bit more useful. Once they're set correctly, you can just resync to get the most recent profile pictures for your friends. While some of these images are skewed due to their size, most of them turn out pretty good. For a paid app it needs some work, but it is definitely a great app overall.
