Funky Punch is a fighting game for the iPhone that takes a little bit from several different fighting genres and really makes something unique. You've got your classic fighter game that you can play through in the quest mode. But you've also got a Power Stone style four player match in Emotimania.
The graphics in Funky Punch are 3D and look pretty nice. They've got a cartoony feel to them that you really fits the style of the game. The controller is laid out onto the face of the iPhone and really works very well. you've only got three buttons besides the D-Pad and each of them does have a specific purpose.
The quest mode is really enjoyable, allowing you to play as one of several character models. The special moves all seem to be relatively the same, which can be disappointing once you start digging into it. But that also means that you won't have to worry about the computer beating you with a move you've never seen. Emotimania is amazing and basically pits you against three other characters in a fight to the death.
The game offers an environment that you can almost completely move around in, which is something that most fighting games haven't taken on until many iterations later. If you're a fan of fighting games, you should definitely download Funky Punch. Even if you're not, it's definitely a fun game and doesn't require that much skill either.
