Nobody is against developers charging for apps that are worth it. Granted, worth is subjective, but there are still some things that are just not worth paying for in any situation. Game Gems is an app that charges for something that is currently available for free in both web app and native app format.

With Game Gems, you have access to over 200 different web app games perfectly formatted for your iPhone and iPod Touch. While 200 is a good deal, all this app does is make a portal to web app games. This is something that a web app would be perfect for. Granted, you do stay within the app to play each game, but that doesn't justify the cost any more.

What's worse is that some of the games have ads on them. You can't blame web app developers for sticking ads on their games, but why would you pay for something that is ad supported. Game Gems is just a portal so they can't control what the web app developers do, but they for some reason still feel their app is worth money.

With all the free games on the iPhone, chances are you're probably done with web app games for awhile, if not for good. All the really enjoyable ones have been ported over or are on their way over. What it comes down to is the fact that this app was slapped together and is a grab at your money. If you really need a web portal app, grab Web Apps and let this app be forgotten.
