Music » Gigotron Review

Gigotron is one of the most well made yet most highly disappointing apps that have come out of the App Store so far. Gigotron focuses on giving you information on local shows and venues that are happening within the next week, but it only offers this service for three cities: New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. That sure does leave a lot of the country out.
Whichever day you select will show you all the artists or bands playing on that day. It gives you a quick blurb and picture if available, which is very handy for just scrolling through them. Considering how few cities it covers, it's unfortunate that there are any with blank images.
When you load up any of the profiles, you're presented with the information for that specific show.

What's amazing about this part of the app is that it has a banner up top showing the names of every artist or band playing and even the cost. Below that, you can see each of the artists, with picture and profile on their own separate page. Just slide side to side for that info.
Granted, the cities that Gigotron have decided to use make sense, they are very popular areas. But such a beautiful and well made app is now wasted on the fact that it doesn't apply to such a large number of iPhone users. If this offered a state by state break down, it would be a first page must have app. Unfortunately, they can't even allow you to change through the three cities inside the app itself.
