I personally think Android offers one the most open phone experiences a customer can buy even with some of its quirky issues. One of the more promising ideas is not being tied to a carrier or one phone. The Google Voice app is available in the Android Market and comes ready with all it’s awesome features for Android devices. If you don’t know what Google Voice is, look it up. There are some great videos explaining what it does.

My job was to see if the app works well and it definitely pulls through. You can listen to and read your voicemails, make and receive calls, as well as send text messages. The transcription is just as buggy as ever but as a whole, the app worked fine. If you have a Google Voice account, this app is a no-brainer.

It offers some of the more interesting features Google has to give and hopefully gives us a small glimpse of what we can expect for the future. Definitely check this app out if you haven’t already.
